PC-Duo HelpDesk 4.0 Available July 20052005-06-30
Vector Networks (www.vector-networks.com), a provider of flexible, modular solutions that help businesses optimize and control security, compliance and asset management while lowering overall operating expenses, today announced the upcoming release of PC-Duo Enterprise HelpDesk 4.0 on July 7th, 2005. HelpDesk 4.0 includes significant enhancements such as Directory Services integration (LDAP/Active Directory and Native Windows Security) and Microsoft Exchange e-mail submission, to improve the help desk’s ability to track and manage queries submitted via e-mail.
HelpDesk 4.0’s Directory Services integration provides seamless user authentication from a central repository using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Native Windows Security. LDAP platforms supported include Microsoft Active Directory Service. Organizations can conveniently use the same Active Directory logon for PCDE HelpDesk and LDAP/Active Directory Wizards facilitate setup and maintenance. Native Windows Security integration leverages existing Windows NT local and domain users and groups for centralized logon authentication.
HelpDesk 4.0’s other key enhancement, the Exchange Server integration, automatically converts e-mails sent to the help desk from end-users into PCDE issues. With e-mail submission, the help desk can manage, query, and track all issues submitted via e-mail. A graphical interface allows IT departments to set up and configure integration parameters—including mapping of e-mail fields to the issue fields and default values for issue fields.
“Vector Network’s PC-Duo HelpDesk 4.0, a module of our award-winning PC-Duo Enterprise suite, provides our help desk customers with the integration and capabilities that will increase their productivity and provide process efficiencies,” said Colin Bartram, Managing Director. “These improvements are part of our commitment to continuous innovation with this and our other PC-Duo Enterprise modules to meet the ever-changing needs of our IT and business customers.”
